About Cat Helm

Cat Helm is a retired geologist and borehole geophysicist. After the warranty on the knees gave out, Cat switched to a career with far less field work, While still accepting consulting work, Cat became an award-winning business reporter and newspaper editor.

Cat lives in a small town surrounded by the forests and lakes of Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region in a cozy little house with several pets: a bouncy dog, not enough cats, and a dishwashing husband. When not consulting, writing, or freelance editing, Cat can be found playing the trombone in the city band and local brass ensemble or out fishing in a kayak.
